Lapland Girl Christmas Party Invitations by DigitalDreamBuilder
A young girl in Lapland costume stands looking up at a reindeer that's
taller than her, holding it with a leash. In this black and white
drawing the girl wears a woollen hat decorated with black triangles and
white lines, the same pattern being found on the hem of her skirt. A
frill of white and black lies over her shoulders, and bands of black and
white decorate her boots. The skirt pocket is decorated with a black

The male deer is taller than the girl, standing sideways. His large antlers extend all the away along his back. Small patterns of white, like snow, decorate his neck and hind quarters. Some snow covered vegetation lies beneath his feet and the sun or a bright star is in the sky above the girl.
The setting could be a Christmas setting, or any other time of year, anywhere in an arctic, Scandinavian or lapland location. The image was reconstructed from a badly damaged late 19th century vintage print and the digital cleanup brings out the original intriguing design.
The matching borders consist of a repeating pattern of lapland dog or huskies in white against a black background with repeating pine or fir trees.
